Premiere Elements V 4

Postby Maxine370 » Tue May 22, 2007 12:24 pm

I knew that would get everyone's attention...

but seriously does anyone have any clue when this might be on the horizon. I've been reluctant to upgrade to v. 3 because of all trouble I've heard for the rather limited improvements but I'm anxious to see something new.
Happy Editing,

Beth

Considering the history I would look for a new version sometime between September and November.
1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.

Another clue is that Adobe recruited Mike Iampetro from Pinnacle right after they released version 3. Whether or not Mike might incorporate some of Pinnacle Studio's features into version 4 is open to speculation -- just so long as he doesn't bring any of the bugginess with them.

Regardless, Mike was always one of the most visible people on the Studio forum. I would certainly look for him to shake things up a bit.

This (edited by me) taken from a UK forum:-

"Version 10.7 is totally crash-free!

...this program seems to be stable at last, because it's blissfully easy and intuitive to use......

It could all be a one-off fluke, of course, we'll have to wait and see, but I can't make this program crash right now even if I try!"

(The above comments were in relation to an edit of HDV material).

If this is true then maybe the result will be that some of the content of PrEl upgrades will be driven by an apparently viable competitor product in the same market space (or at least I hope so).

Wow! Crash-free Pinnacle Studio? Amazing!

Hey, was that a pig that just flew by my window?

Hi Steve,

I think it is Mike Iampietro.

Thanks, Sidd. (At least I spelled your name right!) I've got to quick depending on my failing memory for these things.

Here's a bit more from the same forum (again edited by me):-

".....the latest version 10.7 was good enough to enable production of my first commercial DVD........ The big difference between 9 and 10 is that the latter uses some of the technolgy of its recent big brother, Liquid Edition, now Avid Liquid 7.

Version 11 looks to be incredible value for an easy to use, but versatile, package."

Here's another one:-

".....Ive got 10.6 and its the worst computer program in the world. It probably just crashed whilst I was writing this and Its not even running! Sometimes I wonder if the computer turns on in the middle of the night just so studio 10.6 can crash.

So a simple patch solves all these problems? Can I have 2?"
