Re: Monopod tips?

Thanks so much for all of your trouble Sidd. Now I understand. I thought you were hanging the pod on the outside of the vehicle. This makes more sense. My problem is that I need to shoot straight ahead instead of to the side. Hmmmm....

Re: Monopod tips?

That is a good idea Sidd. I have a mini-project that I want to do and you've given me some ideas. I'd like to tape an approach to our church. It's in a wooded residential neighborhood at the "T" end of a straight stretch of relatively quiet street. As you near the church the trees open up ...

Re: Monopod tips?

Good info. Thanks for the follow-up Cheryl. So this is just the basic monopod, no quick-connect head attachment or swivel? If the minimalist approach works then no need to spend the extra bucks.

Re: Another Blender short

In addition to keyframing, Blender has a physics engine. You can actually get the ball to deform elastically when it bounces, should you want that. Oooh! I was actually thinking of that, but figured that would be asking too much. BTW Bob...did you happen to catch last year's remake mini-series with...

Re: Another Blender short

I watched this early today and then came back to it. Something about it was haunting me and now I've figured it out. It puts me in mind of those floating blob balloons from the old TV series "The Prisoner" with Patrick McGoohan. Amazing how easy this was to do. What would it take to add a ...

Re: Looking for a new PC? Here's what to expect for the $$$

I enjoyed looking through these lists. Thanks for the post. Won't it be fun to come back to this thread in 5 years and laugh at what we were paying for such crude technology? :)

Re: Can't save clips as separate files

Veryyyy helpful. So you can have a ROFL moment, I just caught on that what we're talking about for saving clips, which I've been hearing as the method in the main menu bar, drop down, select export, etc., is exactly the same thing as what I do to the final video, on the upper right side, "Shar...

Re: Can't save clips as separate files

No problem. Let me see if I can help clear this up. When you start a PrEl project you add some basic ingredients such as movie clips or maybe still pictures. Then you spice this up with some transitions, effects, keyframing, slow-mo, volume adjustments, etc. When you're all finished you create a fin...

Re: Can't save clips as separate files

This may be the final question, but do I have this right, if I want to export a set of clips for use in future prel files, I will loose the clip properties? That's ironic because the point of my question from post #1 was to achieve that. :( If that's the case, do I understand there is no way to sav...

Re: Can't save clips as separate files

Okay, questions are narrowing, then... Could you recommend whether to export as avi or what type? I'm clueless. The default was mpg. Or, does PE know to select the best or it selects what's required? For clip properties, I mean, fade in/out, volume set, slow-motion, or whatever. I have a sneaky fee...

Re: Can't save clips as separate files

- Does clipmate work for PE7 (it's described for PE8)? I'm ready to log off and get on as administrator to load it. - Since I can have only 1 project open at a time, I presume you copy the clips you want to clipmate, close your project, open your new one, and paste there? I've never used clipmate. ...

Re: Can't save clips as separate files

You can't save multiple tracks this way. You can only export as a video or audio file, which doesn't preserve any of the project properties from PrEl. If I understand what you're trying to do it sounds like you want to save sections of a project, preserving multiple tracks and clip properties, and t...

Re: Can't save clips as separate files

ChancyRat, using File, Export only exports all or part of what's in the timeline, not specific individual clips directly. From your description it sounds like you're exporting the entire timeline instead of just the section that you need. If you only want to export a section of the timeline you need...

Re: Keeping Track of Video Content

I'm sure you'll hear from a number of people regarding this. I think some people use the Organizer for this sort of thing. I've done a fair amount of exactly what you describe. Personally, after I've captured the video I like to put it in a project (it can be a temporary project that you use just fo...
