Re: Roll Call - January 2012

Sorry to hear about your health issues, you certainly did have a bad year... when you are healthy it is something you take for granted. I hope 2012 is a better year for you. :-D

Re: Roll Call - January 2012

1. No New Year's resolutions for me... I have made too many in the past and always break them. So a few years back I made a New Year's resolution to make no New Year's resolutions and I have kept to that one. :) 2. I am out of work at the moment... well since November last year. :( So I am looking a...

Re: Moving to HD camera, HV40 vs HF M40

For me, it depends on whether you use more photos or video in your movies. I have both a HDV tape based camcorder and an AVCHD memory card based camcorder and as Chuck says the ease of using a memory card compared to tape should not be overlooked. But... a year or so ago I took a "step back&quo...

Re: Review of Avid Studio.

The free Red Giant plugins and other additional content is an incredible offer... if you add up the cost of those plugins it must come to a couple of thousand dollars.

Re: Review of Avid Studio.

Ah yes, I take it back. Vegas 10 was CUDA enabled... I forgot because as you say it gave virtually no acceleration... and it was only enabled for the Sony AVC export. A year or so back I did a comparision on the Vegas forum comparing GPU acceleration with Sony Vegas Pro 10 and PPro CS5... and as you...

Re: Review of Avid Studio.

Yes, he has it wrong, version 10 is not CUDA enabled.

Re: Review of Avid Studio.

I haven't checked it out yet (I note it is 15mins long) but I see it was posted April 15th, 2011. The CUDA enabled Vegas Pro is version 11 (not 10) and it only came out a month or so back.

Re: Vegas Spot Filtering

I use Vegas Pro but I think most of the tools are similar. You need to put two instances of the clip on two tracks... one above the other Method 1. In Vegas Pro you can select Pan/Crop for the upper clip and there is an option within the window to select the Mask tool. You can draw a mask around the...
