What I was suggesting was using the scale property to expand the original image to full frame to see if that overcame the problem of the black bars. It wasn't clear to me whether that had been tried yet.

That was exactly the use case.

Me too but the largest that I have created for a horizontal pan in a video was 8,500 x 2,500 pixels.

Pixel dimensions for PAL are 720 x 576 at 25fps so the frame size of 640 x 480 at 30fps is strange. Matching source will override any other 'bespoke' settings hence they are greyed out.

Do you know the source of the video that you are using?
