Re: Analogue to Digital Converter Help

I have read that some JVC prosumer VCRs (now discontinued but possibly available used) produce much better output that a "regular" VCR, and have TBC built in. I assume that using such a VCR would eliminate the need to use the ADVC-300 ... unfortunately not. I have a JVC prosumer VCR with ...

Re: Do animated backgrounds and backdrops work with SMS?

Vegas does not always recognise the alpha channel transparency in an overlay. You may need to set it up in the Properties for the clip... you may need to set it to Premultiplied.

Re: Win 8 and PSE/PRE11

I have XP on my internet computer and may well upgrade this to Windows 8 because of the great price of the upgrade... until January 31st if you upgrade over the internet (you can also burn an iso file) it only costs £25. Well worth it to get up to date. On my editing computer I will stick with Wind...

Re: Controlling that stretchy bar on the time ruler

When you add or remove media from a project the bar will resize to cover all media.. is that what you mean? EDIT... oops sorry I misread your question... I thought you were refering to the line above the media that shows you if the media needs rendering. I guess you are refering to the work bar area...

Re: Low resolution clips ... can't use them, correct?

There are a few Vegas Studio/Pro users here on the forum so if you have any issues post and I am sure you will get an answer. :)

Re: Low resolution clips ... can't use them, correct?

Both Vegas Studio and Premiere Elements are quite powerful editors. There is little to seperate the two... as you say Vegas has the advantage of DVD Architect studio but many folks here use it with Premiere Elements. For me the biggest difference for a novice is that the learning curve for Premiere ...

Re: Low resolution clips ... can't use them, correct?

Yes Sony Vegas is not very intuitive... infact some things are totally counter-intutive. I found Premiere elements much, much easier to learn.

Re: Low resolution clips ... can't use them, correct?

Oops neither did I. :conf: In Vegas there are a couple of ways of doing it. Either right click the clip and in Media Properties select Maintain aspect. Otherwise in the Pan/Crop window right click and select maintian source aspect.

Re: Low resolution clips ... can't use them, correct?

I often use standard definition video in a high definition project. I usually use a photo/still as a background, sometimes a screen grab from the video blown up to full screen in black and white with a little blur, then have the video sitting on top of this. As Chuck says do make sure "Scale to...

Re: New NVIDIA Driver Crashing DAS5

I also have a geforce gtx 470 working with Sony Vegas Pro 12 on Windows 7 64-bit and have used both drivers without any major difference compared to previous drivers. That said, Vegas Pro 12 has had issues with all of them :(

Re: Slideshow premiere 10

If you right click on the photo in the timeline and select "Scale to Frame" the photo should fill the frame and be uncropped. If you deselect it the photo could be cropped if it's size is larger than the frame size or if it has been scaled in Motion properties.

Re: "Interference" Pattern

There was a thread about Panasonic and DV clips giving such an issue... I think it was in the Adobe Premiere Elements forum from many year ago.
