Re: Direct Video Manipulation

I agree with you, Jamal. It is a very cool trick -- I'm just not sure I'd get much use out of it.

Re: Copying my 8mm Tapes

I wonder if our ancestors dealt with problems like this? Did they have to figure out what to do with all those old VHS tapes when DVDs took over? Or what to do with their LPs with CDs made them virtually obsolete? And what about formats like Beta and 8-track? I guess most people weren't recording to...

Re: VIXIA HV20 vs HV30

But do note that there are currently a lot of issues capturing the HV30 directly into Premiere Elements at present.

However, if you don't mind capturing with HDVsplit, Premiere Elements should do wonderful things with the captured files!

Okay, here’s how to claim your prizes. Below is a list of available prizes. Each winner can claim any available prize, with the winners choosing their prizes in the order listed above. In other words, Maxine370 gets first dibs, then Rockdoc, then momoffduty and so on. Congratulations to one and all!...

Congratulations Muvipix Spring 2008 Video Contest Winners!

Congratulations to each and all who entered our 2008 Muvipix Video Contest. I don’t have to tell you how difficult it was for us to narrow our picks down to just a few winners. There was such a wealth of talent on display! So, even if it wasn’t possible to award every entry, we certainly must acknow...

Re: Can't "capture" from HV30 to Premiere Elements with Windows

Unfortunately, the HV30 is showing up a lot on these forums as a camcorder no one can capture from. Which is strange, because the HV20 has been a favorite of many! The best solution seems to be to capture with the program HDVsplit. (It's a free download.) The files captured with this program edit pe...

Re: Is there a way to burn a non-VOB file onto disk?

I'm not sure what you're asking, Stu.

You can certainly go right from DV video in your Premiere Elements project to a DVD video.

Re: Best export for my Yahoo Group site

It appears the site will take a variety of formats. http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/video/upload/index.html I'd recommend a WMV set to Cable quality (the default). Many of these sites process your videos and reduce the quality to save bandwith, by the way, so don't be surprised if it doesn't look a...
