I want to film myself introducing a slideshow, then remove everything from the video except myself, so I can "insert" it in the opening video introduction of the slideshow. Is there a way of doing that without green/blue screen? You can get some really cheap (and reasonable quality - I go...

Re: External Hard Drive

Bob D, Your missing Gbytes reminds me of the "give us our eleven days" cry when Britain changed from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian:- http://www.earlymodernweb.org.uk/emn/index.php/archives/2004/12/calendars-and-dates/ Re the software. From personal use I can recommend Acronis if not...

Re: My Top 50 Albums of All Time

How about your top 10 or so John :) Hmm, artists is relatively easy, LPs (albums) more difficult, so I'll go for artists in no particular order:- Beefheart, Cream (and Clapton generally), FZ, Incredible String Band, Led Zep, John Mayall, Pink Floyd, Stones, Velvet Underground, Yes. After that lot y...

Re: External Hard Drive

From previous posts you will know that my internal drives are all WD. BUT I do also have an external 100Gb Seagate (USB powered; almost shirt pocket sized) drive. I have never used it for video capture etc. but it is hugely useful for swapping files from one system to another. Never had any problems...

Didn't think I was crowing, Ken. I thought that I had fairly reported the 'real world' speed increase the Raptor had given. :-D

Re: Moving files to new Hard Drive

Hi Lee, If the files have been moved the 'where is the file' dialogue comes after the splash screen and before the project has loaded so in that case the 'locate media' option wouldn't apply. I am guessing here (as I have never used the 'locate media' function - I didn't even know it was there!!) bu...

Re: Moving files to new Hard Drive

Yes the project will lose the links. But when you re-start the project a window will open up with a file search type facility and a request along the lines of 'Where is file abcd.ext?' . If you locate the new directory on your new hard drive (that you copied the old stuff to) and click on the reques...

Re: Dijifi.com

I have some poster producing software (Poster7 from http://www.postersw.com). When I am producing large posters (say 4 x 3 A4 pages) then I use a higher resolution for scanning photos - normally I go for 1200dpi which may be excessive but I only go that far for such large prints. For my own photos t...
