Ken,
I have this 'vague' feeling that there was a post maybe three or so months ago about an on-line monitor calibration facility.
Maybe someone else recalls it and will provide the link(?).

Re: New build advice...Happy to stand corrected . Thanks Bob.
Re: New build advice...Hello Ken. My understanding  is that this is a Windows limitation. Each monitor will have its own unique colour profile but Windows can only apply one profile to one monitor; it cannot handle two profiles nor will it apply the same profile to two monitors. This is not a problem as the 'profil...
Re: New build advice...I have the eye-one display 2 and can recommend it. Very easy to use and, when I used it for the first time, I was amazed at the difference. I can only calibrate the primary monitor (in my case left hand) on my dual monitor set up so I was able to compare directly the 'calibrated' withthe 'uncalibrat...
Re: New build advice...Hello Jack, I can't think of any additional software that you will need to run CS3 (or to rephrase that I don't have any additional software and my CS3 runs oerfectly OK). The only suggestion that I can come up with for your planned rig is maybe a Blu-Ray writer (personally I am waiting for prices t...

Re: 4X3 video in a 16 x 9 showOthers may differ but my choice would be to stay 4:3.
Re: A Little Help from My Friends, Please. Thanks Steve. That saves me some work in Photoshop. I had drawn the same conclusion as you (i.e. do it yourself) but I was having trouble finding a map that had sufficient high resolution to start working on so that, when finished, the image would allow zooms and pans without pixellating as one got ...
A Little Help from My Friends, Please.I have searched and searched again. Google and AltaVista have taken a proverbial hammering but still NO joy!! :( So any help really appreciated on this one. :-D I am looking for a map, ideally digital but I can scan an image if it is paper and not too large. The map area should be of the Caribbean a...

Re: HV20 tape recommendation? You mean I need BATTERIES?
(Sorry, couldn't resist that!. )
Re: Where do you put your downloads? There may be better ways but this works for me. I use ReGet Pro to manage my downloads. All downloads from whatever source go to a 'Downloads' directory on my D: drive. Immediately after downloading I unzip the files (if necessary) before renaming them into something that makes sense and finally mov...
Re: PPro CS3 image stablizingI had installed the Steadymove plug in into CS3 but hadn't tried it until mentioned in this thread. I ran a quick test and the result of just applying the plug in to the clip causes PremProCS3 to completely lock up. No rendering, just a lock up. I am exploring why this might be so - it could be a se...
Re: Motion Background Download ErrorI have problems downloading but I do have a workaround. If I try to download from Muvipix using Firefox and using ReGet Pro the download fails. :( If I try the same download using IE and ReGet, no problem. :-D I haven't worried about trying to resolve this problem as the IE/ReGet solution works. :-D
Re: HV20 tape recommendation? My twopennyworth. :) :) With my first camera (a Canon) I have only ever used JVC tapes; never had any problems. (The reason i chose JVC tapes was simply because they were the only ones available from the shop that i bought the camera from. They also seem to be universally available, so no supply iss...
