Re: 20 year old DV video

Another suggestion I have heard is to copy the files and rename them .avi This has worked some of the time but the best result would be to convert the files to .mov with Quicktime. It is also possible to convert with other applications like Adobe Media Encoder to .avi which would be the best convers...

Re: 20 year old DV video

Found this, kind of explains the problem. Maybe the files can be converted to MP4 or another common format using Quicktime?

Re: miniDV Support???

I have used WinDV for SD and HDV Split for HDV for years, never liked the Premiere Elements capture process.

Re: Rendering

Peru is right though, rendering isn't a requirement unless your timeline does not play well. Over 5 hours to render 51 minutes is a long time. If the timeline does not play smoothly then it might be time to upgrade.

Re: 8mm film Conversion

Thanks Sidd, that's why there are companies that do the work. I know it is possible to capture a frame at a time and that is probably the best way. I don't want to do the work and I don't think the person with the film can do it either. Hoping someone has a recommendation for one of the companies ou...

8mm film Conversion

I know that some of you out there have had 16 and 8 mm film converted to digital format and/or DVD. Someone I know needs to have about 10 reels of film converted, any recommendations?
