Re: Supplies

Just in case anybody is interested in the problem I am having using the supplied software for the HP Photosmart D5160 to print dvds... Two hours on the phone with HP's senior tech which included uninstalls and reinstalls on two different computers resulted in an admission (how unusual, but refreshin...

Re: Supplies

Ken- Thanks for your reply. While searching the internet I stumbled upon a program "Acoustica CD/DVD Label Maker" . I downloaded the trial (fully functional) and was so impressed that I purchased it. Yoy may want to look into it at Acoustica.com. It was only $20 and had way more options th...

Re: Supplies

Ken- I just got a D5160. What software do you use to print the discs with the D5160? I get an error message when I try to use HP Photosmart Premiere to type in text to be printed on the disc. I spent over five hours with HP support today (four online chats and a phone call) and finally was told that...

I have seen discs labeled as "DVD-Movie". Is this another type of disc, or just a DVD-R or DVD+R disc with a sales gimmick? :?:

Re: convert GIF to AVI

I haven't tried yet- I thought only AVIs and mpegs could be used. Yes, they are animated.

convert GIF to AVI

I hope I didn't double post this.. I thought I submitted this, but did not see it on the forum! I would like to convert some GIF files to AVI so that I can use them in a Premiere Elements 3 project. I found some "free" applications on Google, but am hesitant to download them without knowin...

Where to buy cakes of Verbatim DVD-R Lightscribe

I've been trying to find 100 or 200 packs of Verbatim Lightscribe DVD-R discs, but I am only able to find 30 packs of them. It seems to be easy to find the larger cakes of DVD+R, but not -R.

Anybody have suggestions for sources? :-k

Re: Won't open or play on another computer

Just to close the thread: I discovered that the drives which would not read the discs were all older drives. I replaced one of the older drives with a newer one and it read all of the brands of discs- even the cheap ones! I guess I was looking at the wrong end of the problem. Thanks for your ...

Re: Routine Backups

I used to back up onto an external hard drive often during creation of a project. I would safely disconnect the drive each time so that if something did happen, at least the drive would not be affected. I now back up onto an internal hard drive because it is faster. I still save often, first to My V...

Re: Won't open or play on another computer

Chuck-

I first discovered the problem when I tried to play a video burned from PE3. I thought the video burned would be a DVD-video, but it is identified as a DVD-R.

Is a movie burned from PE3 a DVD-video or a DVD-R? :?:
