Re: Microsoft ICE

Photomerge does not do that, I don't really consider that a limitation. I don't often shoot spherical panoramas. More often than not, I'll want to make a tiny planet image from a normal photo or moderate panorama. For example, the sunset photo below was made from a single 16:9 photo from my cell pho...

Re: WHY? oh, why?

I can't say whether this is what bit you or not, but Microsoft has been changing the way fonts are installed and managed. With the April update, the font management features have been added to the Settings App under the Personalization section. The older font management features are still present in...

Re: Microsoft ICE

The current version, Microsoft ICE 2.0.3 , was released two years ago. I used to use it a lot, but once I started shooting panoramas mainly in raw format, I switched to Photomerge in Adobe Camera Raw (and Lightroom) which does the merge using the raw file data and saves the merged result as a DNG ra...

Re: How to Make Your Video Look Timeless

"Everyone should be allowed to use the clock wipe transition only once in their lifetime." I guess no one told George Lucas. The Original Star Wars trilogy used a clock wipe in each episode (and many other types of wipe transitions too). Didn't appear to affect the shelf life. ;) Th...

Re: photo album opening

How did you get the page to slide around the binder rings so naturally? It's an illusion, the crop is a straight line. As the page swivels from -90 to 0 degrees, the perspective foreshortening decreases. Possibly because we are so familiar with how pages in a ringed binder slide, our brain interpre...

Re: photo album opening

Glad you got it, Bob. For just the simple case of opening the cover to reveal the double album page, it is really just a matter of using the Basic 3D effect. The devil is in the details though. There is a bit of preparation needed. I'll go ahead and post my comments though in case someone else wants...

Re: photo album opening

OK, I took a closer look and adjustments do need to be made to get everything to line up and fit properly for a good looking page turn. Nothing fancy, it all can be done with the standard tools in Photoshop Elements. Do you have Photoshop Elements or Photoshop? I don't have time to work on it tonigh...

Re: photo album opening

Thanks, Bob. I think we can work with that. I'll take a better look tonight to see if there are any geometric issues. Did you only want to make the cover turn, or are there any other pages that will turn? [ Post made via Mobile Device ] http://muvipix.com/phpBB3/images/mobile.png

Re: photo album opening

Bob, Doing a page turn (album opening) in Premiere Elements can be easy or difficult depending on what you are trying to do. It sounds like you want to do a fairly basic one where the closed album opens to show both left and right pages at the same time centered in the frame. If so, this should be r...

Re: What kind of music is that?

That's Holiday for Strings composed by David Rose. It was the theme song for The Red Skelton Show. The music became very popular and eventually was used all over the place. Even Spike Jones did a parody of it. [ Post made via Mobile Device ] http://muvipix.com/phpBB3/images/mobile.png

Re: print 2 oval portraits side by side on 1 5x7 photo paper

OK, I made the assumption that you had created a new blank 7x5 file and copied the photos to that. I was wrong. I would recommend that you do that. By creating a 7x5 file, you are working with the exact size and proportions for your landscape photo and it will be perfectly sized for printing. To cre...

Re: print 2 oval portraits side by side on 1 5x7 photo paper

I'm assuming you copied each of the photos into your new 5x7 document as separate layers and moved one photo to the left side and the other photo to the right side. Assuming that's correct, you will need to create the oval shape on each photo separately. First, in the layers panel, click on the laye...
