Re: Video shot in portrait and landscape

Here's the solution I proposed for Premiere Elements. Shouldn't be hard to adapt it to Vegas or Movie Studio.

Re: photo album opening

I have to put in a plug for ProShow too!

Don't let brand loyalty cost you an opportunity. You can do easy and great looking slideshows in ProShow and then output them as movies and finish them in Premiere Elements if you'd like.

Re: photo album opening

Chuck did a series on this effect several years ago. It may have been among those we retired because they referenced obsolete versions of the program.

I haven't been able to find them, so that could well be the case.

Maybe we can talk Chuck into doing an update. What do you say, Chuck?

Re: Missing CODEC

If the project was created in version 7, you definitely need to finish it in version 7. You can open older projects in newer versions of Premiere Elements. That said, older versions of the program (like version 7) needed to activate components (like the MPEG component) which were provided by third-p...

Re: What kind of music is that?

For most basic production music, it's usually a decision of the post production supervisor, unless the director has a preference or recommendation. The song Robert references from the "Abyss" was probably commissioned specifically for the movie, so the song's writer and performers surrende...

Re: Ready to upgrade camcorder

Kind of depends on what you're trying to do, bob. How are you going to share your finished videos? If you're going to share them on DVD, then shooting in 4K or at a high video rate is probably overkill. If you're outputting BluRays, you might justify it. If you're sharing to YouTube, it's up to you....

Re: What kind of music is that?

Studios have libraries of "production music", including some for specifically that purpose. The music was written to represent a certain generic music style without interfering with the action. For that reason it's always instrumental. Whenever someone on Gilligan's Island tuned to a rock ...

Re: Plugins and effects in VMSP15

Interesting idea. But I couldn't get that to work either, MrG.

Something about Enabling Multicam Editing wipes out any effects applied -- as well as preventing any new effects from being added!

Re: Plugins and effects in VMSP15

I've been playing around with the program -- even adding effects as Media FX -- and you're right. Multicam editing nullifies any effects you've added to your clips! Looks like the only solution is to stabilize your video clips in a separate project and then output them as Sony AVC files, using only ...

Re: Almost

Great to hear you're doing well, Buddy!

And thanks for the link to your old radio stuff. I'm sure you've got more stories to tell than there is time to tell them!

Re: Two editors, one project

You can use the 1920x1080 MP4 output and you'll get the same results. You'll be able to combine the outputs into a single project.
