Actually, Chuck, if I remember right, you can't open version 1 files with version 2 without corrupting the file.

But you can open version 2 files with version 3 (but then you can't open them in version 2 anymore, as you said).

Assuming you can connect to an external microphone -- how much do you want to spend? Very good wireless mikes can be had for around $200. I found a set on the internet for $30 that needed an adaptor but worked surprisingly well. It's probably not something I'd use in a career-risking situation though.

Not if MacIntosh has it's way, I'm sure. I'm sure the idea of Mac-compatible software that is cheaper and better than it's own is scarier to Steve Jobs than someone figuring out how to hack OSX so that it runs on a Windows machine. For Mac, it's iMovie (a prettier Windows MovieMaker, but free), Fina...

Some day I need to round up a list of fonts that I know are on every single PC in the world so this doesn't happen. Unfortunately, it's a moving target. Seems like every program you add tosses in a few more fonts. I thought my computer was pretty standard but, even if I limit my choices to True Type...

Sara, if you go to this page http://muvipix.com/resources.php you'll see a sample FAQ on the left side of the page and a hyperlink to our searchable FAQs (which will open in a pop-up window). Once you're in the FAQs, do a search on "slideshow" and you'll find a detailed article I wrote on ...

Can you tell me more about those images, Sara? What size are they (in pixels)? 640x480 pixels, for instance. Also, how are you judging that poor quality? Did you output your video as an AVI from Premiere Elements and then watch it in Windows Media Player? And, if you do that, make sure you don't pla...

It's great to see the enthusiasm for tutorials. You guys could keep us busy for years! One other thought though. Is there any interest at all in, maybe, scheduling an occasional tutorial style chat in our chat room? Some of the effects (the garbage matte, for instance) are really pretty simple, and ...

I know it's a non-answer, Doreen, but can you burn a disk from Windows Media Player?

I know that doesn't solve your problem because you can't read the iTunes music with WMP, but at least it would tell you if the problem was with your burner or iTunes.

I always recommend EasyCleaner. It's free, it's effective, it won't harm your system's integrity. Plus, in addition to be an excellent registry cleaner, it has a feature for removing unnecessary files. If you set it to remove all the TMP files and folders, you'll likely clear several gig of invisibl...

I've always used Shift+Enter (rather than Ctrl+Enter) to force a line break in Word without creating a new paragraph, Norm. And that key combination won't work with Scene Marker names.

So I was glad to see Chuck's tip!
