Re: re installing PE on a new computer

As I understand it, if it hasn't updated automatically (If it has, you'll see it if you right-click Computer then select Properties), you can do it manually if you go to Windows Update. It should show as an option. If it doesn't, right-click Computer, select Properties, then Hardware, then Device Ma...

Re: re installing PE on a new computer

Actually, John, the Vista core is really a pretty good operating system. And, with the release now of SP1 for Vista, it should function very well. (If SP1 hasn't loaded automatically, go to Windows Update and manually install it. If it didn't install either way, it means you need to update one of yo...

Re: slow down title slides w/o adding time between

You have pictures and titles on the same track?

That's not what you want. Make sure you're in Timeline rather Sceneline view and put the titles on Video track 2.

Otherwise, there's no way to manipulate the slide and title separately.

Re: slow down title slides w/o adding time between

First, if you haven't switched from sceneline to timeline view, do it. This will allow you to see your slides on Video track 1 and your titles on Video track 2. My guess is that, when you extended your title's duration, you "rippled" the next slide -- moving it to the right in the process....

Re: re installing PE on a new computer

Sorry to hear that your old computer bought the farm, John. But that's always a mixed blessing -- particularly if you've not lost any critical data in the process. I'm not sure why you can't open Premiere Elements on your new computer, if you've installed it there. But a reinstallation is probably a...

Re: Capturing bulk DV

Are you planning to edit these videos later? If so, it might help then if they are broken into shorter scenes. Otherwise, both Premiere Elements and MovieMaker can be set to capture without breaking scenes. On the other hand, if you plan to just store these videos onto DVDs for viewing and maybe you...

Re: Great Video - Great Laugh

The next version should be embedded into the skull so you can order your Starbucks while carrying on a conversation with an invisible person, like those guys with the Blue Tooth headsets.

Re: Free CD/DVD burning software

ImgBurn was listed in the same article as highly recommended, Johnny.

Let's keep them both "stickied" to the top here so we can find them next time someone asks.

Thanks for your input, guys!
